Resident Mentorship Programs
At the beginning of each resident’s first year he or she is paired up with a faculty mentor. The resident meets with the faculty mentor on a semiannual basis and written documentation of this meeting is provided to the Program Coordinator and placed in the resident’s file. The faculty mentor will provide guidance and support in academic activities and career goals. (See Appendix K)
At the beginning of the residents’ first year he or she is also paired up with a third year resident mentor. This pairing is intended to assist during the transition to residency phase. The third year resident is designed to be a point of contact for the first year resident who can assist answering questions and guiding the first year as needed.
